Every Home a Godly Home in Every Village, City & Nation

The purpose of Print on Demand units is to make FamilyLife HomeBuilders and conference manuals available at an affordable price and available in various languages.  It is THE biggest hindrance to the growth of FamilyLife worldwide.

The following countries have been funded for their first POD unit:

Kenya, Tanzania, Turkey, Malawi, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Cote d'Ivoire, Venezuela

The power of POD's is seen in this email:  "Howard, I wanted to just mention how much a difference Print on Demand is making already. Just this week, we have sold 8 books and have three more HB groups coming up that will need another 16 books. Before we had the printer, we were cautious to start too many HBs because we knew we could not meet the material demand. Now, we are confidently starting HBs knowing that we do not have to worry about running out of books! On behalf of homes in Kenya, we extend our sincere gratitude. For all Homes in Kenya, James & Chao" (10 September 2008)

To see a brochure or description of the POD project click on this link:  POD fact sheet.  Please note that the cost of each POD has increased from $2500 to $3000 for two reasons.  It was deemed that HP printers are more serviceable in most countries rather than the originally planned Brother printers and this adds $250 more for the higher costs of the printer and high yield toner cartridges.  In addition, baggage rules and costs have been changed due to higher fuel costs.  The POD unit does not include airfare charges only excess baggage.  For that reason, additional funds of $1000 to $2000 are needed for a staff to deliver the POD which would include training and other ministries training activities while there.

FamilyLife staff in Little Rock have already funded or pledged 6 Print on Demand (POD) units for the countries of Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi.  Two are undesignated as of now.
